There are charcoal brands. And then there’s Jealous Devil.
When they came to Flesh and Bones, they didn’t want another slow-mo steak spot. They wanted teeth. So we made three animated episodes that feel like lost retro cartoons - all exaggerated violence, scorched egos, and biting comedy - with charcoal cast as the hero.
The series channels that classic, mid-century animation chaos where characters get flattened, blown up, and bounce back smiling. Only this time, the explosions are fueled by premium hardwood charcoal. Flames roar. Rivalries burn. Meat meets destiny.
Flesh and Bones produced the project end-to-end, building a combustible little universe around the brand. Aaron Ray directed, bringing razor-sharp comedic timing and a fearless visual sensibility that let us push the tone right up to the edge.
The work didn’t just spark conversation, it earned a feature in Ad Age, highlighting Jealous Devil’s appetite for bold creative and a brand willing to go animated (and a little unhinged) to stand out.
Three episodes. Retro bones. Modern bite.
Just the way we like it.
